This question was not about importing a route plan, it was about importing a flight log. Tools -> Import Flight Log -> From File.

Resurrecting a truly ancient thread...
I can't seem to open/import GPX files into SD 2.1.2.19729. There appear to be two ways to open GPX and neither are working for me:
1. Click on Open and select GPX file type
2. Click on Analysis | Import log from file.
Option 1 says "The file could not be loaded", whilst Option 2 just does nothing at all.
The GPX file origin is GPSMap 296 > Mapsource 6.13.7 > SD
I know I can import track data directly from the 296 but SD provides no way to select individual tracks, so all I see is a mess of all the flights I've done since I last deleted the track memory in the 296.
If SD could let me select individual tracks or alternatively import the GPX file then that would be a big improvement. I can send a sample GPX file if required.

Sending us the GPX file in question would help. Both the original from the Garmin, and also the one exported from MapSource.

Did you cure this? I'm trying to import a .gpx file (converted from .gdb file in Mapsource) of microlight fields into SD but jus get "File could not be loaded" error. File attached. All help gratefully received!

Importing a list of waypoints is different. Click on Waypoints, then Import. The file you posted here appears to import just fine.
