Hi

when I load a route to my gps I get an error coming up ocationally. Without a route it seems to work fine, but with the route certain messages cause this error:

"Error
Skydemon.exe
Not Supported Exception

at
System.ComponentModel. Component.Dispose()
at
Divelements.aviation.flightplanner.x7217298c2f3495da.xde9a142831a8561b()
at
Divelements.Aviation.FlyingInstrument
...
at System.Windows.Forms. Control.WnProc()
Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
at
System.Windows.Forms.ApplicationRun()

any ideas? I have to reboot the unit and start Skydemon again.

i have checked and the system.form is part of the netframework. I have version 2.0 installed and all the files seem to be there. (part of the rom image).

The fault does not always occure but mainly when it is "loading data" and I click on any of the menus..or when I click a lot on different menus in quick succesion.

It started once more and I changed a lot of settings, planned a route etc and it didnt happen. The only difference is that the direction indicator and the approach feature was turned off. As soon as I turned them on the error came up.
--> is this a clue?
--> I have tried the same on a WM6.5 device with identical results.

Now I was beeing told the 30day trial period has expired. I delete the rom and reinstalled the skydemon software.
--> it allowed me to restart Skydemon once. The error didnt come up with the two features disabled, however now I still cant
use it as the trial period has ended.

Please let me know if you can recreate this fault and link it to the direction indicator.

How strange. Is there any more to the error details, at the top rather than the bottom of the text, that you could share? The route opening functionality is not linked to the direction indicator, or in fact any of the instruments, in any way.

If you could share the route you're attempting to open, we'll try here to reproduce the error.

The trial version of SkyDemon runs for 30 days only, and for 30 minutes at a time (for the navigation part). Unfortunately if you've reached the end of the trial there's nothing we can do to reset it for you, but when the next version is released (around a month) that will begin a new trial period.

right..now that i bought the licence we have to get it working...

step1: I reinstalled skydemon using the new licence and didnt load any routes sofar.
step2: I loaded UK only on the device
step3: I loaded the dpi fix on the device
--> it starts, "loading Data" --> "seeking GPS" --> turned GPS off for the moment
--> went to the route editor and started adding waypoints
--> clicked on to get notams (got error message "your activation key could not be used to obtain live data")
--> clicked to show the direction indicator --> still fine
--> played around even further in the menu --> still fine
--> reactivated the GPS --> " seeking GPS Satalites"
--> activated the approach feature and still no error

the old version without reg would have crashed by now.
--> exited Skydemon with GPS on: " Application Skydemon.exe encoutered a serious error and must be shut down"

--> restarted skydemon again --> no errors
--> exited skydemon --> no error

--> loaded a previously defined route to the GPS
--> restart the GPS unit --> still fine

--> loaded userwaypoints of disused airfields to the GPS
-->restart of Skydemon

--> I put the device to sleep and restarted into the Wince mode
--> restart of Skydemon
--> wild clicking around the menus and on the map--> cannot reproduce the error which haunted me for 3 days

--> started the GPS interface (not the normal WInCE desktop)
--> the skydemon seems to quit or just disappear ..no error messages

Any chance that there is a difference between the registered and demo version?
I tried on two devices and and both crashed with similar errors. All starting with
"Error
Skydemon.exe
Not Supported Exception
at
System.ComponentModel. Component.Dispose()
at
Divelements.aviation.flightplanner.x7217298c2f3495da.xde9a142831a8561b()
at
Divelements.Aviation.FlyingInstrument"

there was nothing else.other than a lot of repeats mentionion various elements

I did have an error where it said it was missing Pinvoke.dll. Does this mean anything?

I will test further on my drive home and see when I used it for 30 minutes if the errors come back.

The evaluation and registered versions are identical. Only the presence of your license file distinguishes them.
