Installing on a Navigon 8410

With jsnr's fantastic help, I have installed very successfully on navigon 8410. The brilliant part is that you do not need to do anything to the innards of the machine.

Just get a new SD card (must be HC type) add the filles he sent me and add the sync files from skydemon, put card back, turn on and Skydemon miraculously works.

Its a great machine for running Skydemon.

PS With John's permission, if you send me a card I will xfer all files to get you started. BUT make sure you use Navigon Fresh to back up your machine befire you start.

I have tried to follow the suggestions under adding keyboard to 3rd party equipment but im probably not smart enough to get it to work. Not much of an issue in my view especially as for serious flight planning you need internet access to get all the briefing info. So I use PC for all this. D

But when moving, you should be able to hold and click (actually it works when not moving as well!!). By this I mean, press finger on screen and hold till it responds. For example if you click and then hold on an airfield AND you have a GPS fix you should be given the option of a Direct Goto. Alternatively if you have a route already, then click away from the line and you should be given the option of inserting a new waypoint between the 2 approriate ones en route. This method also allows you to bring up briefing such as wx or notams. Give it a go. David
