Hello,

Anybody has an experience with this piece of HW?

Sorry for being an IT ignorant but... would (not only the SkyDemon planning) but also the SkyDemon Mobile work on it in flight? (this is the Windows 7 version)

I imagine it wd run it a treat. 10.1 inch screen with high res, solid state disk & fast.

Screen is 400NITS, capacitive & I imagine transflective  .. so shd be as readable as an ipad

Only Q is whether 10.1" is too big for cockpit.

Otherwise looks v good indeed. Just click on the "start GPS" icon in top right of PC version of SD to see how this works vs Mobile SD.

I don't have it yet... so it would be interesting to hear from somebody who does Smile

regarding the 10inch display... given the thing does not have a GPS (!) you'd have to buy an USB GPS module. Then you can have the Iconia W500 on your knee like another kneepad with the GPS module thrown on the panel to catch the satellites... so the size issue would not be really an issue I can imagine

also... one could have all other Win based applications on it like the Jeppesen Charts for instance (a great help in case you don't have a printed chart in the cockpit).

All I am looking for is an all-in-one solution - i.e. a device that could give me all I need for my aviating around. A Win based tablet looks like it Smile

 

And btw. it is actually Acer (not Asus)

Re GPS antenna, go for a rechargeable Bluetooth one  .. they even do them with PV cells so that they charge in sunlight.
