Hi Tim,
Launched SD today and accepted a software upgrade and various chart upgrades. However, the shortcut is now not a blue SD icon and will not launch the program - error returned is 'parameter incorrect'. Also will not launch from Start Program list and previous list of planned flights from the Start Program area is also missing?

Try uninstalling, then reinstalling - that sorted the same problem for me in the past.
The edit button doesn't work on the first post of a thread for some reason but does for the subsequent ones

Thanks Steve, but I also seem to remember this from the first install - Tim, can the upgrade file not be fixed?

Can what upgrade file be fixed?A good initial thing to try is, as already advised, to uninstall SkyDemon then install freshly.

OK, uninstalling, redownloading, installing and deleting non working short cuts has fixed things.
But I was simply following orders i.e. responding to an in program message saying there is a newer version of SD available do I want to install? I click ok and then these issues follow, so it's the current SD upgrade process and file download that's seems to be broken here?

Just to say I installed the latest Sky Demon 2.1.2 and it was up and running as usual like a flash, installing mobile on the GPS and all. Indeed flight planning on the GPS alone was simplicity itself, thanks to Stevelup's perfect huge keyboard. My only problem is that I have to wait till August to be able to use it. Well done again Tim & Co.

Ian, this appears to be an isolated incident, otherwise we'd be quite worried by it. At the moment we can put it down to "just one of those things" but it does give us some cause for concern. I don't believe we could be doing anything different in our update process; we use standard Windows tools to accomplish it.

Depends on which shortcut you use. I tend to drag a shortcut into the 'Quick Launch' area. I find that after an upgrade these almost always fail. I have to delete that shortcut, and drag another one down there.
Could that explain what was happening?

Possibly - next time around I'll keep a close eye the process, I'll also run a registry cleaner (Reg Mechanic is good) and generally do a bit of housekeeping before I run the next upgrade.
