Have just downloaded new Uk charts from SD server and then synced SD mobile via card.

Now when you load SD on mobile, UK chart is not automatically loaded. You have to go to charts and load it.

Is there a setting for this or should it be automatic. Still persists next time around.

Chart loading is now automatic, so you can put as many charts on your device as you like. The UK chart will be loaded if you're within the area covered (i.e. the UK) or you are 10 minutes away, flying towards it. If you're stuck somewhere without a GPS fix you can force it to be loaded, as you have correctly noted.

OK. But couldn't load a "default" chart if no fix or the last one used or something.

I'm sure we'll investigate doing that if it turns out that lots of people are trying to use their SkyDemon devices without a GPS fix and therefore aren't getting any charts loaded.

Tim,

It sometimes takes a few minutes for my mobile GPS to come on line after switch on. Rather than having to force a chart load it would be nice to have a default chart or one based on last use of Sky Demon maybe (Which I think used to happen). This then allows me to start preparing for the flight whilst waiting for GPS on my mobile to come on line.

We're giving some thought as to how we can do this so it's seamless, and dynamic loading still works. Probably some kind of "last known position" thing until a decent fix is obtained.
