The SkyDemon software is currently in beta, which means that although it functions very well, it is not considered quite finished yet. We're encouraging people to test it and give us feedback (positive or negative) to help us when we give it the finishing touches.

What country is this for?

We currently support a lot of Western Europe and the whole of the USA, with support for further countries still in development. For more information, see the countries page. You can still use the software in your country even if we have no data for it, but only the route planning and navigation facilities will work and none of the mapping.

I don't see my country listed. What can I do?

You'll just have to keep an eye on the countries page to see when data becomes available. If you have a head for data, you have access to the relevant official publications, and would like to enter your own data, read the custom data information page for more information and please get in touch with us.

This looks great! Can I throw away my charts now?

No. This software is intended to be used as an aid for planning and as an aid while flying and it does not replace any of your primary tools or cockpit instruments. We're not certified by the CAA or any other governing body, and neither is our data.

You should always check any calculations and data displayed, and suggestions made, against your own calculations and charts.

Do you plan to sell SkyDemon GPS devices?

Yes, we will hopefully start selling hardware devices towards the end of 2010.

Can I use SkyDemon on more than one computer?

Yes; SkyDemon is licensed personally so as long as it's just you using it, you can install it on two computers.

I have a tablet PC in my plane. Can I use in-flight functionality on it?

Yes! Starting with version 1.2, the desktop version of SkyDemon includes in-flight navigation features.

Are there any plans to release a Mac, iPhone or iPad version of SkyDemon?

No.

What hardware or operating system do I need to run this?

To run SkyDemon Plan, you'll need a PC running Windows 2000 or later.

To run SkyDemon Mobile, you'll need a device running Windows CE 4.2+ or Windows Mobile 5.0+. It will need GPS functionality, obviously.
