SkyDemon Beta Downloads
This page allows access to beta versions of the SkyDemon product. Beta versions are those that are not yet considered complete. They typically
contain more features than the latest general release and will also contain fixes for issues that are discovered in that release. However since they
have undergone less testing and some features are new, they are more prone to bugs. Still, if you discover one, you can always uninstall and revert
back to the latest general release.

You will need to manually uninstall any other version of SkyDemon, from your Control Panel, before installing this one. After installation please try
all your favourite features and any new ones, and be sure to send us your feedback, good or bad.

Changes Since the Last Public Version
Approach Information has been added for airfields. This feature replaces the static plate-style presentation of information (though that is still
available) with a more dynamic and specialised view of just the information about an airfield that is useful to make an approach, including a map of
runways and local features, the ability to nominate your destination runway at any stage in the flight and depiction of circuit orientation/direction in
order to quickly get an appreciation of how your current position relates to it. Local weather and NOTAM are also displayed.
We now give you the ability to choose an area NOTAM briefing rather than a narrow route briefing, which was the
only choice previously. An area briefing is selected in the NOTAM Filtering window, and is specified with a waypoint and a radius. In addition, NOTAM
highlighting has been improved, with a magnifying glass option available for all NOTAM.
Due to popular demand, as of this release it is possible to configure different types of fuel measurement for each aircraft in your library. Any
application-level setting of preferred units for liquid volume or mass is overridden by aircraft-specific units so you'll need to update your aircraft profiles.
Another feature we are previewing in this release is a potential high-contrast SkyDemon chart style. This style is selectable in both SkyDemon Plan
and SkyDemon Mobile and is intended as a public test of something we may do in the future; you should not expect this feature to ship in the next
version of SkyDemon. The style focuses on the contrast between darker terrain-based features with bright, almost neon depictions of airspace,
obstructions and features that matter most for aeronautical safety. The difference in contrast may also aid visual comprehension in high-brightness
environments.
There are other smaller enhancements and fixes in this build. User waypoints are now selectable as the start and destination for a flight in the new
route window, and more ground-based features can be toggled on and off in the mapping options for enhanced control over the map appearance and
clarity. We now allow entry of latitude and longitude in decimal comma-separated format. We have tweaked our GPX file export code to be more
compatible with other software packages. Another style of user waypoint has been added (blue dot).
